Established by Douglas B. Robson and David P. O’Connor, the law firm has been in business since 1987, serving the legal needs of Ladysmith and the Cowichan Valley.

Paul Nettleton joined the team in 2009 and became a partner at the beginning of 2010. Martin Sanderson joined the team in 2017 and became a partner in 2021.

Paul, Martin, and an experienced team of five highly skilled paralegals and legal assistants, take great pride in providing the community with quality local legal services in a compassionate and neighbourly manner.

Paul is a Partner of the firm where he acts as a lawyer in a real estate and mortgage practice. Having joined Robson, O’Connor LLP in November of 2009, he was a Director on the local Chamber of Commerce board.

Martin Sanderson

Lawyer
Martin attended the University of British Columbia where he majored in both psychology and philosophy. In his time at UBC, he focused his studies on cross-cultural psychology and the social psychology of moral decision-making.

David O'Connor attended the University Of Western Ontario where he obtained a B.A. in 1982 and an L.L.B. in 1985. He moved from Ontario to British Columbia in 1985 to begin his career.

He was called to the Bar in British Columbia in 1986 and practiced exclusively in Ladysmith until his retirement in April of 2021.

David proudly served the residents of Ladysmith and the Cowichan Valley, providing legal assistance to the community for 35 years, before handing the torch to Martin Sanderson.

Original founder, Douglas B. Robson retired at the end of 2010.
